Ashlé shares her extensive knowledge in each class and takes her time to reach each individual and truly educate each student no matter their level. Finishing 2013, she garnered the title of champion with her celebrity partner Johnny Lozada from the Spanish version of “DWTS”, “Mira Quien Baila” as well as choreographed for “Dick Clark’s Rocking New Years Eve” 2014 for Univision artists JenCarlos Canela and El Dasa. She’s danced and choreographed for artists including: Martin Short, Rachel Dratch, Mario Cantone, Anne Hathaway, John Leguizamo, Gloria Estefan, Don Omar, Victor Manuelle, Wisin y Yandel, Prince Royce, Leslie Grace, Jerry Rivera, Aventura, Fonseca, and many many more. Ashlé is the creator of “Idía” dance, director of the “Latin Fusion Dance Project” and founder of “Breaking Conformity Productions, Inc.” “Idía™” LATIN FUSION A dance style like no other. Experience the creativity and originality of Ashlé Dawson’s “Idía™”, a seamless fusion of Latin dance styles met with commercial and technical dance forms. This unique and original style which is based on her years of extensive knowledge, technique and training in multiple dance fields is combined with her background and passion for Latin dance, culture and music. This class will give each dancer something new to carry with them including increased versatility and cultural knowledge. We begin with a thorough jazz/yoga based warm up for proper alignment & strength and then we’ll progress to an intro of Latin movement/styling from hips to hands. Once you’re acclimated you will be introduced to a new world of dance including Salsa, Bachata, Reggaeton, Cha Cha Cha, Afro-Cuban, Tribal, Samba and more all while hearing and applying familiar terminology ranging from jazz to hip hop styles to ballet/contemporary. “Idía™” is designed for everyone from the beginner dancer to the advanced, ladies & gents, and all backgrounds looking to add something new to their repertoire, prepare for an audition or simply add some fun to your week.
